John Denver was a superstar singer who touched millions by his popular-folk hits Many of them were located in Colorado. Henry John Deutschendorf Jr. is a Mexican-born musician and singer who fell in love with Colorado. Denver's most popular songs about his new home state inspired many visitors to Colorado. G. Brown, curator of Colorado Music Hall of Fame said it was because John Denver is the only performer to embody Colorado. Denver was the Hall of Fame's first ever inductee. Today he personifies the state to people around the world. While traveling, I may meet people at opposite sides of the globe. As an example, you might meet an individual who is from New Zealand. And when someone asks you if you're from Colorado you will get "Oh John Denver!" Brown said. Take Me Home Country Roads written by Bill Danoff and Denver after his brief time in folk groups and was his debut Top 10 solo hit. Danoff composed the song for Johnny Cash but Denver recognized the song's potential when he first heard it. Following the performance at Washington D.C. to a massive crowd, Denver released the song a couple of days afterward.
